historical timeline

1943 On February 1, construction begins on the original Washington- St.
Tammany Charity Hospital, a 30-bed frame structure adjoining the
Elizabeth Sullivan Memorial Hospital, also known as the Bogalusa
Community Medical Center.
1948 State Representative B.B. “Sixty” Rayburn introduces a bill for the
construction of a new Washington- St. Tammany Charity Hospital in the
legislative session.
1951 On January 11, the Washington-St. Tammany Charity Hospital opens.
2002 On June 24, Washington- St. Tammany Charity Hospital merges with the
Bogalusa Community Medical Center to form the Bogalusa Medical
Center.

Kurt Scott

kurt scott
was appointed as Hospital Administrator at Bogalusa Medical Center in January 2007.

Scott most recently was hospital facilities consultant and branch manager in New Orleans for Johnson Controls Incorporated (JCI), for which he managed a portfolio of seven hospitals and other facilities.

A fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, Scott received a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola University and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans. He attended the Health Care Executive Leadership Development Institute of the American College of Health Care Executives at the University of North Carolina.
