Montel Williams partners with MCLNO to promote medication assistance program

Emmy-winning syndicated talk show host, author and motivational speaker Montel Williams, visited New Orleans offering help to people who are having trouble affording their prescription medicines. Montel and the "Help Is Here Express Bus Tour," stopped in front of the Superdome October 23rd to help patients access prescription medicine assistance.

Dr. Dwayne Thomas, CEO of the Medical Center of Louisiana at New Orleans, was a guest speaker at this televised event. Dr. Thomas shared with Montel and the crowd the services MCLNO provides our patients through the pharmacy.

As Dr. Thomas told Montel and the audience, thousands of prescriptions went to patients.

All LSU Hospitals participate in the Medication Assistance Program (MAP), which uses enhanced technology to speed processes that serve patients in our community based primary care clinics.
