Department Preferred Reemployment List following the LSU Interim Hospital Layoff

As part of the layoff process, employees laid off from LSU Interim Hospital were automatically placed on the Department Preferred Reemployment List for Orleans Parish. Some employees may have been displaced to other areas of the state and may have indicated to the Department of Civil Service that they were willing to accept jobs located at other Health Care Services Division (HCSD) Medical Centers located in other Louisiana parishes. Since that time, some of you have returned to the New Orleans area, but your name remains on the Department Preferred Reemployment List for those other parishes indicating you are still willing to accept a job at the other HCSD Hospitals.

If you are no longer interested in keeping your name on the Department Preferred Reemployment List for other HCSD Hospitals, you must contact the Department of Civil Service and request that your name be removed for jobs in any other parishes in which you had indicated an earlier interest.
Why would you want to do this? If you have moved back to the New Orleans area and are no longer interested in employment at other HCSD Hospitals, you risk having your name removed from the DPRL for employment at LSU Interim Hospital. When you decline a job offer or fail to respond to a job offer made to you from the Department Preferred Reemployment List, Civil Service will remove your name from the official Department Preferred Reemployment List for all parishes, including employment at LSU Interim Hospital.

You should contact Civil Service at (225) 342-8836 or 1-866-383-5462 to make changes to your availability for job offers on the Department Preferred Reemployment List. You may also contact LSU Interim Hospital at 1-800-256-2311 and ask to be transferred to the HR Department.
