RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM

Relay Team

LSU Health - W. O. Moss Regional Medical Center’s 5th year of participation in Southwest Louisiana’s American Cancer Society, Relay for Life was a huge success.  The Relay Team’s fundraising efforts began in February and concluded in May raising $5668.00.  Among the many activities, Relay Team raffled off an LSU, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter basket.  Each basket was filled with donated items from the Relay Team employees. Rounding off the fundraisers was a Silent Auction and Stuffed Potato lunch sale sponsored by the Moss Regional Service Auxiliary, Relay Team members. The successfulness of this project is due to the generosity and compassion of Moss’ employees and their passion to help find a cure for cancer.  The Relay Team members offers a special thank you to the patients, families, volunteers and employees of Moss Regional for their support in an effort to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

ASK ME 3

Ask Me 3 is an educational program provided by the partnership for Clear Health Communication at the National Patient Safety Foundation-a coalition of national organizations that are working together to promote awareness and solutions around the issue of low health literacy and its effect on safe care and health outcomes. Brochures are available to assist patients in asking questions that will empower them to take part in their care.
At the last Health Care Effectiveness forum the National Patient Safety initiative was highlighted as a new patient education program designed to promote communication between health care providers and patients in order to improve health outcomes.
