Training on the HIPAA Privacy Standards and the HIPAA Security Standards begins upon hiring and continues annually.
Lessons are provided in a variety of ways: face-to-face in general orientation, small groups, and online.
Through the online training program, WILMA (Web In-Service Learning Management Application), employees are introduced to the basics of the federal standards and how they apply to numerous practices within health care delivery, treatment documentation and record security.
Additionally, lessons targeting specific HIPAA topics may be created and assigned to select groups or the entire employee population as needed.
WILMA includes a tracking mechanism which allows department managers and supervisors to monitor the completion of lessons to establish compliance with training as required by the HIPAA standards.
Questions regarding access to or problems with WILMA should be directed to your supervisor or manager.
